The Art of Orabel Thortvedt
A result of the cooperative effort between the West-Telemark Museum in Eidsborg and the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, this book portrays the work of artist Orabel Thortvedt, granddaughter of Teler pioneer Olav G. Geitestad. Much of Orabel’s work focused on the saga of her family’s emigration and pioneer life. With contributions from Telelaget Historian Jim Skree and quotes from Telesoga, this beautiful hardcover book is an essential addition to any complete Teler library. Published in 2020, the text is in both Norwegian and English and is profusely illustrated and features black & white and color photos.
